This Vauban citadel is part of a network of fortifications defending the port of Tiên Sa.
In the Vauban style, its construction began in 1813, under the reign of Emperor Gia Long, part of a network of fortifications defending the port of Tien Sa. It was partially destroyed during the siege of Tourane (Sept. 1858 - March 1860) led by the Franco-Spanish expedition led by Admiral Rigault de Genouilly. Today, only a fragment of the surrounding wall remains, which shows the thickness of the construction and the depth of the ditches.
