3 day tour Ban Gioc Waterfall and Ba Be Lake. All went well and we loved the trip. Family of 4 with 2 kids age 11 and 7. Guide was very knowledgeable and a very proud man happy to tell stories about Vietnam's progress. Food was delish for all meals. We did have 2 rooms for my family. Bus driver was good and did good job considering Vietnam roads need certain level of skill. Several stops on the way there to show minor attractions, and then the waterfall...jaw dropping. Lake was also spectacular and so much fun. I would recommend.

Not what we hired!!! We were a group of four young people looking to do some trekking through the jungle and the national park in Ba Be. The price per person was supposed to include a local guide (which speaks english), so we can see some animals and get explanations about the area. The price was high compared to other similar activities we have done in Vietnam (70USD per person), but they told us they will do the favour to use a boat to return us to the initial point and to allow us to use some kayaks during the afternoon. The day of the trekking the local guide who spoke english was not available, the other local guide that did not speak english had an accident coming to the initial point. And we were offered one of the girls in charge of the kitchen to accompany us. The tour was supposed to start at 7:30 but instead with all the last minute changes we started at 9. The local girl did not speak a single word of english and was not prepared to do the 15-17km trekking that was promised. We only did 1km through the forest, the rest we did through local roads, that could have been driven by motorcycle. The longer route that the girl know was 21km instead. The landscape was in many places really nice but nothing extraordinary for the price we were paying. At the end there was no time left for the kayak because we reached the starting point at 4pm and there was only one hour left of sun light. When we politely asked for a reduction in price as we did not do the kayak, and the guide we got did not tell a word in the whole tour we were only discounted 15usd per person. Not being all of these enough problems, at the end some of the female workers confessed to us that the manager running this business has abused them. Leaving us with a really bad feeling after leaving so much money to this business.
The best at Hanoi and around
