BIT TET ÔNG LOI
The French borrowed steak from the English, and the Vietnamese borrowed "bit tet" from the French. In the Old Quarter, at the end of a long dark passageway: bit tet, soups, pâté, grilled pigeon(chim). As is often the case, the setting makes absolutely no concessions to seduction. An interminable corridor, a small, crowded courtyard, long tables where it's hard to find a seat. But the establishment, said to be one of the oldest in the city, is very popular, mainly frequented by local customers. Authenticity guaranteed.
