These celebrations honour the memory of the warrior-child Giong. The inhabitants then replay the battle in period costumes.

Commune of Phu Dông, east of Hanoi (Gia Lâm district). The celebrations honour the memory of the child warrior Giong, who allegedly defended the country against foreign invaders. Saint Giong is also venerated as a protector of the harvest, the peace of the country and the prosperity of the family. The villagers symbolically reproduce his exploits, through the conduct of a white horse in a battle and the orchestration of a flag dance. The celebrations have been recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
