AL-NOOR MOSQUE
This mosque was once frequented by Muslim traders from southern India
The only mosque in Hanoi. Built in 1890 and restored several times, it was once frequented by Muslim traders from South India. Then came the Muslim soldiers from North Africa who served in the French expeditionary corps in the Far East. Today, the mosque serves as a place of worship for expatriate Muslims in Hanoi, often diplomats working for the embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Iraq, etc. Despite its apparent small size, it can accommodate up to 300 worshippers.
