NGOC SON TEMPLE (FROM THE JADE MOUNTAIN)
Located on the shores of Lake Hoàn Kiêm, this small, colorful temple is dedicated to General Trân Hung Dao, conqueror of the Mongols in the century.
The Jade Mountain Temple, built in the 19th century, is dedicated to General Trân Hung Dao, conqueror of the Mongols in the 13th century, as well as to the precursor of medicine La To and martial arts genius Trân Vu. The Brush Tower bears 3 Chinese characters meaning "Write on the azure of the sky". The red-lacquered bridge dates from 1875, and its name, Thê Huc, means "Clarity of the Dawn".Since 2019, the temple has housed the embalmed body of the sacred lake turtle, who died in 2016.
