PRESIDENTIAL PALACE (FORMER PUGINIER PALACE)
The palace, designed by architect C. Lichtenfelder, is now the presidential palace and the venue for official receptions.
Designed by the architect C. Lichtenfelder, the Puginier Palace was completed in 1906. Today, it is the presidential palace and is used for official receptions. Opposite, the former Albert-Sarraut high school (now the headquarters of the Vietnamese Communist Party). The palace grounds also house Ho Chi Minh's residence, a house that he had wanted to be modest and whose very discreet appearance still enhances the ostentatious luxury of the Phủ Chủ tịch, a contrast that did not displease President Ho Chi Minh.
