A lake that was once home to numerous craft villages
The capital's largest lake, covering some 500 ha. Separated from Lac de la Soie Blanche (Hô Truc Bach) by the 2.5 km-long Cô Ngu dike (rue Thanh Niên). Known successively as "Lac de la Dépouille du Renard", "Lac aux Vagues d'Argent", "Lac des Brumes" and "Lac de l'Ouest". Several legends surround the creation of this lake. An angry dragon is said to have unleashed the waters of Heaven and Earth to drown the evil genius of the 9-tailed fox. The lake was once home to numerous craft villages.
