TEMPLE PHAT TICH
This Buddhist temple, located on the slopes of Mount Lan Kha, retains several elements from earlier eras.
This Buddhist temple is located on the side of Mount Lan Kha. It is said to have been founded in 1057 during the reign of Ly Thân Thông (1054-1072). It has been rebuilt many times, notably after its destruction by the French Expeditionary Force in 1947. Several elements belonging to earlier states have nevertheless been preserved, in particular a stone Buddha from the 11th century, as well as beautiful statues of fabulous animals. The pagoda also houses the mummy of a monk, coated with lacquer, which is said to date from the 17th century.
