Built in the shape of a boat, this military museum presents the history of the Vietnamese naval forces. From the boats depicted on the famous bronze drums of Dông Son (1st millennium BC), through the victory over the Mongolian fleet of the Sino-Mongolian emperor Koubilaï Khan in the estuary of the Bach Dang river (1288), to the commissioning of the six Kilo submarines purchased from Russia in 2009 and intended to protect Vietnamese sovereignty.
