Built in 1962, the Civic Theatre is the nickname given to Johannesburg's theater, a cultural and artistic complex comprising no less than four theaters. The line-up is extremely varied. Although the name of the venue suggests dramatic performances, they are not the only ones on stage. There are also dancers, singers, musicals and all the other facets of culture on offer on the Civic Theatre's various stages, as well as permanent performers such as the Joburg Ballet.
