The building houses a charming gallery of historical memorabilia.
This building, together with Klapperkop, Wonderboompoort and Daspoortrand, formed a very robust defensive unit. Recommended to the ZAR government by L. Grunberg, a former French artillery officer, in the aftermath of the Jameson Raid alert in 1896, the work was carried out by Grunberg for Daspoortrand. At the entrance, a statue of Danie Theron. What a sublime view of the city set in its hills, the pharaonic university buildings, the Union Buildings, the Voortrekker Monument itself! Inside, a charming gallery of historical memories.
