The Namibian Ann Van Dik runs a real research and breeding centre. The guides are often veterinary students from Pretoria, one of the world's leading veterinary schools. The De Wildt Cheetah Centre is located on the Magaliesberg Mountains and serves as a boarding house for cheetahs, hyenas and wild dogs. Make sure you bring warm clothing in the winter, as it can freeze quickly in the cars during the walk. A second centre has opened near Bela-Bela in Limpopo.
