ELANDS VALLEY TOURISM
Waterval Boven, officially renamed Emgwenya, is a small town on the railroad line between Pretoria and Maputo in South Africa. It lies on the edge of the Mpumalanga Escarpment, on the banks of the Elands River, above the 75-metre-high Elands Falls. Its Dutch name means "above the waterfall". Waterval Boven is the sister town of Waterval Onder, which lies at the foot of the Escarpment and below the waterfall. Both villages were established in 1895 as a result of the construction of the Pretoria - Delagoa Bay railroad line.
