ARCHAEOLOGICAL HOUSE OF THE COMBRAILLES
The house houses a permanent exhibition on the Agrippa route, which linked Lyon to Saintes in the early century.
The Maison Archéologique des Combrailles is housed in an old barn. In addition to temporary exhibitions, its permanent exhibition "Des voies et des hommes" (Ways and men) evokes the Agrippa road which linked Lyon to Saintes at the beginning of the 1st century and which passes not far from here. We also approach the archaeological site of Beauclair, straddling the municipalities of Voingt and Giat, it is the largest site in western Clermont-Ferrand. Its surroundings are strewn with remains of ancient occupation.
