Perched above the small village of Pilgrim's Rest, in the eponymous nature reserve, the Crystal Springs Mountain Lodge is about sixty family cottages, thirty rooms, a spa area with sauna, a bar and restaurant in its mountain style, all in brown and varnished wood. But it is also a swimming pool, a tennis court, squash courts, walking trails, all in the scenery of the mountains and the animal reserve.

Pas idéal en hiver
Check in long et fastidieux, il s'avère qu'il s'agit moins d'un hôtel que d'un village vacances, conçu pour des séjours plutôt estivaux. Chaque chalet est équipé d'une cuisine, d'un barbecue etc... Le chauffage est assuré par une cheminée et un fagot mis à disposition mais étant donné la hauteur sous plafond, on a beaucoup de mal à se réchauffer.
L'accueil donne des informations fantaisistes et est assez peu aimable, caution en liquide exigée.
restaurant sur place un peu lugubre mais le personnel y est plus sympa.
Point positif le grand domaine avec quelques gnous, zèbres et des singes réputés agressifs.
A déconseiller pour y passer une seule nuit... d'hiver
