ALANGLADE HOUSE MUSEUM
Home to a collection of antique furniture from the 1920s-1930s.
The house of mining boss Dick Barry was built in 1916 according to an Edwardian architecture influenced by the master of the time Sir Herbert Becker. It is a fine example of the opulent bourgeois houses of the time, with its collection of antique furniture from the 1920s and 1930s, its tennis court and croquet lawn in the middle of the bush. A real contrast with the surrounding shantytowns where the miners lived at the time. There is also an Art Deco exhibition including some Lalique sculptures.
