MUSINA NATURE RESERVE
A reserve with a sumptuous landscape, including Africa's oldest metamorphic rock and baobab trees, ideal for a picnic.
The Musina Nature Reserve is a good place to stop for a picnic near the baobabs, following the marked trail through the 4,910 ha of the reserve. Burning landscape of wild beauty. A geological wonder is hidden here. The Sand River Gneiss, composed of mica, quartz and feldspar crystals, dates back 3,852 million years. To this day, it is the oldest metamorphic rock in Africa and one of the oldest gneisses on the planet. On the road, expect to come across giraffes, antelopes and other zebras.
