SUNFLOWER CASTLE
Castle, former bastion of the counts of Auvergne in the 12th century, decorated with a flamboyant gothic style, kitchens and outbuildings to visit.
Former stronghold of the counts of Auvergne at the end of the XIIth century, it belongs to the royal domain in the XIIIth century and this until the XIVth century. Great families will then own the castle. We owe to Hugues de La Roche the construction of the large circular keep. His descendants embellished the building and decorated it with a flamboyant gothic style. The visit allows to understand its complex architecture: the two keeps, the enclosure and the main building articulated around a court. You can visit the vat room, the kitchens, the outbuildings and part of the living quarters.
