The Red Bush, aptly named: Aspalathus linearis linearis, grows wild in the Cederberg. Benjamin Ginsberg and Doctor Le Fras Nortier were the fathers of the rooibos industry, the South African "tea" par excellence which, by the way, is a very good souvenir to bring back from his trip. To do so, visit the Rooibos Tea House. They will even give you a series of recipes including red grass, which is not smokable! Shopping on the spot at special rates, and of course, a tasting break.
