Housed in a historic colonial house, L'Aubergine is a renowned restaurant in Cape Town. The chef offers gourmet cuisine made with spicy South African ingredients and oriental flavours. A real success! Accurate cooking, strong flavours, airy sauces: the know-how of a great house and a sommelier's wine list. The chef does not rest on his laurels and is constantly concocting new dishes, including a lamb dish alongside strudel! Wide choice of vegetarian dishes. And we haven't said anything about the swimming pool in the garden!

Nous avons testé le menu dégustation trois plats à 790R (prix septembre 2016). Le trio de poissons était bon mais très léger, la pintade avec sa saveur café excellente, tout comme les filets d'autruche. Bon dessert avec toutefois une réserve pour la tarte au fromage qui s'apparente à une sorte de quiche et déçoit un peu car elle est un ton au-dessous du reste. Service de qualité avec sommelier "savant" pour commenter les accords mets-vins. On peut éventuellement choisir de remplacer un plat du menu par un plat à la carte.
