Cape Town is a city that offers many services for people affected by sexual violence. Rape Crisis is a feminist organization committed to promoting community safety, reducing the trauma experienced by rape survivors and encouraging the reporting of rape. They offer free and confidential support and counseling services for rape survivors. Counseling sessions are available in English, isiXhosa and Afrikaans at their offices in Observatory, Khayelitsha and Athlone. Rape Crisis also offers community workshops to combat rape myths and stereotypes, as well as advocacy services to raise awareness and fight for specialist support services for survivors of rape and sexual violence.
