DE OUDE DROSTDY MUSEUM
Neoclassical-style building housing the local judge-governor.
This old drostdy, where he lived and lived with the sector governor-in-law, justifies the trip to Tulbagh alone. According to legend, the judges had decided to settle as far from the city in order to discourage the complainants. The building was erected in 1804 in a neo-classical style according to the plans of the French architect Louis-Michel Thibault, then abandoned in 1822 and transferred to Worcester following a thunderstorm that had severely damaged it. Shaken by the earthquake of 1969, the drostdy was beautifully restored.
