The Amalienstein mission comes from the name of its benefactress, Amalie von Stein.
The Amalienstein Mission, named after its benefactor Frau Amalie von Stein. It shows a Lutheran church built by the Berlin Missionary Society. One can sleep in the restored buildings of Aunt Carolina's Guest House and then take the track north into the Klein Swartberg. For 22 km, one of the most majestic parades in the country: the track cuts a path between the stone walls, as if caught in a mineral trap in fawn colours. It is magnificent.
