The official residence of Presidents Brand, Reitz and Steyn, the last three heads of state of the independent Boer Republic. Built in the Scottish Baronial style, the building symbolically occupies the site of the city's first farmhouse, the one Johannes Brits created near the famous Bloemfontein spring. Today, there is a museum recounting the lives of the last presidents who resided there. Listed as a National Monument in South Africa, it also houses a gallery and a theatre. A beautiful conversion.
