SENTINEL DRIVE
Go there and contact
A 4.30-hour round trip with panoramic views of the Free State to the west and KwaZulu-Natal to the east.
The road, then the track, climbs the mountain for more than 34 km. We leave Phuthaditjhaba and soon find ourselves at 2,540 m on the Sentinel Car Park. This trip offers panoramic views of the Free State to the west and KwaZulu-Natal to the east. The Sentinel Hiking Route takes 4.5 hours (round trip) to over 3,000m above sea level on the famous "amphitheatre" of Natal. The ascent of the famous Mont-aux-Sources can be undertaken from this plateau. On a clear day, even if you are not very fond of hiking, the Sentinel is worth the trip.
