KNYSNA ELEPHANT PARK

Created in 1994, Knysna Elephant Park takes in and cares for orphaned elephants. Here you can caress the elephants, walk around and even have a picnic with them! Although the concept is a bit like a zoo where you can interact with these gigantic creatures, the animals are treated very well. They have all been rescued from the slaughterhouse or are former circus animals. Your visit begins with an explanatory video, then you board a tractor that takes you straight into the middle of the elephants! You can then feed them, touch them, take pictures... The tour lasts about 30 minutes but you can stay longer if you wish and leave with the next convoy.
