After having housed those sentenced to death, this prison became a women's prison. The last inmate left in 1979. Today we discover a curious shopping centre: shops installed in the cells! Shopping still at Latimer's Landing, a beautiful realization in the Waterfront style. The wharf on the Buffalo has been developed and sold in plots. There are many restaurants and shops. Shopping still, even on Sunday mornings, at the Vincent Park Shopping Centre, Devereux Avenue, north of the city.
