CHURCH SQUARE

Church with a set of eight bells, distinguished by its Victorian facades decorated like cream puffs.
In the centre of this magnificent square stands the Cathedral of Saint Michael and Saint George (1824-1952), like an Anglican guardian. It was the first church on the continent with a set of eight bells. On the left side, via Bathurst Street, the Victorian facades are decorated like cream puffs. Grocott's Mail is the oldest newspaper in the country. Under the arcades of the High Street you can visit the Grocott & Sherry bookshop where it is published every Tuesday and Friday. On the same pavement, the Settler Memorial Tower (1870) and the City Hall (1877).
