Built in 1876 by British troops of Major Amiel, this fort served as a hospital during the war five years later. The exhibition is a good introduction to the complex history of wars in the region. The English fought pretty hard against everyone! This museum is also an opportunity to learn more about Rider Haggard, the author of the famous Mines of King Solomon, who lived near here at Hilldrop House.
