Home to one of South Africa's rarest birds, the palm vulture.
North of Mtunzini lies the Umlalazi Nature Reserve, no less than ten hectares bathed in tropical nature, where birds and some crocodiles live like kings. The reserve is home to one of the rarest birds in South Africa, the palm vulture. It also includes a beautiful 20 km long beach, where you have to be careful because there are no anti-shark nets offshore. All around, the paths in the mangrove and in the forest offer pleasant walks. Please note that the doors close at 6 pm.
