Research institute dedicated to the study of shark behavior.
This research institute, the only one of its kind in the world, is dedicated to the study of shark behaviour. It was created in 1964, after many bathers were bitten near the coast. The Institute's staff is responsible for the maintenance of the 450 large-mesh nets that are immersed over 400 km between Port Edward in the south and Zinkwazi in the north. To educate the public, the Natal Sharks Board presents its work to the public: dissection and video show to warn and raise awareness of the unloved shark.
