Small World has long been the place to go for excellent sandwiches in the heart of Jordaan, on a street perpendicular to Haarlemmerstraat. Sean, the dad behind the place, is a lovely Australian who insists on the consistent quality of his products. The sandwiches (to be eaten on the spot if you manage to occupy the few seats available, or to take away) are succulent. The main courses - quiches, mixed salads, pasta - are delicious, but it's the desserts that we love, especially the killer cookies and cheesecake, just like the carrot cake.
