AMISTAD
Restaurant right in the centre of gay Amsterdam and close to Leidseplein and Amsterdam's museum district with free wi-fi.
Coup de coeur for the hotel Amistad. In the heart of the gay Amsterdam and close to Leidseplein and the museum district, this charming, chic and romantic establishment offers a beautiful art deco garden; Simple and stylish, it is made of colourful rooms and flowers in the furniture mi-Ikea half design. All rooms are equipped with telephone, TV, mini bar, private or shared bathroom as well as a computer with free internet access. Breakfast included and served until 13 pm for morning fat, in a friendly atmosphere around the big table, as at home. You will be given keys for your walks and arrivals - the reception is open from to, and the staff also welcomes you from noon to midnight in their brand new Internet lounge, a very greedy cafe where you can surf and drink (coffee, tea and sodas, various snacks at € 1).

When I was checking in, they pretended that this was an upgrade. Even though the receptionist was nice enough to help with my carry on; I still had to carry 23kg of luggage up the stairs.
The room was damp, cold, and the floor felt like it was crumbling. The insulation (noise and weather) is not great. There was noise from the cafe across the street, but I expected this as a tradeoff for good location.
They also have a weird breakfast time slotting. Even though when I had mine, the dining area was empty.
Overall, the employees are friendly; service and location is good. My room sucked and definitely not worth the money.
