Refined hotel located near the Nieuwmark square in Amsterdam.
A beautiful, unique address close to the historic Nieuwmarkt square, in a charming 17th-century building. Behind the designer window blinds and greenery-covered facade, you'd think you were in a charming, lush little boutique. But it's actually a hotel! The six rooms are divided into two categories: Courtyard and Canal View. They are equipped with rain showers and natural light, and the decor is highly refined. A very pleasant address to discover. Please note: the stairs are steep.

Very unique and a lovely vintage style.
Perfect location and best bar in town just downstaira.
Highly recommended by us!
- The breakfast is great. Really friendly and warm kitchen staff.
- Check in is clunky. The person at the bar seemed surprised to see me.
- The room I stayed in was old, but not in the charming way it was intended. Just kind of creepy and weird. Again, they TRY by putting in a coffee machine, having free snacks and robes. All great, but the bed was absolutely awful. It was the weird single beds that they just push together. Which I get is fairly normal in Europe. The mattress was SO hard, I could have slept on the floor and felt no difference. It just feels like it’s trying to be a boutique hotel. The downstairs is obviously much newer than the rooms. If the two matched it would be great.
- Stairs are vertical. Might as well just use a ladder. The staff is very helpful with bags, but I can’t imagine if someone is even a little drunk.
- room will be VERY loud all night if you are canal facing. They put a sound machine, but I used ear plugs
- walking through the bar seems fun, but it’s not. It’s a popular cute bar, but I missed traditional hotel lobbies.
- I interacted with the female owner once, she was very nice. I hope she gets this place up to its full potential by upgrading the rooms.
Some little details were very thoughtful - like a white noise in the room to cancel out street sounds. Some little details were missed - very cold in the room as radiators were turned off when we arrived, neither of the bedside lamps worked, shower gel and shampoo is great but there is no conditioner.
Even with those little things missed, we still had a lovely stay, I would happily recommend it, and would definitely stay there again.
