One of the city's prettiest cafés, located in the heart of the Jordaan. Dating back to 1780, it's a youngster for the city! Queen Beatrix (now back to being a princess) came in person to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of its floating terrace on the canal. The room is typical: a handful of tables, patinated furniture, nicotine-impregnated walls, beautiful enamelled stained-glass windows... Quite intimate in the afternoon, this cosy bar fills up very quickly in the evening. Serving sandwiches and simple dishes. A very nice address.

A haven with two steps from the centre. Pleasant terrace, good sandwiches, pancakes and beers; and inside intimate atmosphere with candles. But beware few places, if not to be installed with several on the same table, very friendly.
