May 5 is the day of the commemoration of the end of the Second World War. The day before, it is the commemoration of the dead with a minute's silence (trains and trams also stop) and the laying of a wreath by the king on the monument in Dam Square. The ceremony that takes place around the Homomonument is also very poignant. On May 5 there is a huge concert on the Museumplein.
