KRIJTBERG CHURCH
Church that still celebrates mass in Latin and hosts impromptu and non-promptu concerts in Amsterdam
Built on the remains of a 17th-century clandestine church, this neo-Gothic church, constructed between 1881 and 1883, boasts a rich interior, splendid stained-glass windows and superb statues. As a Jesuit parish, it continues to celebrate mass in Latin, and occasionally hosts concerts. Just a stone's throw from the flower market and pedestrian streets, it is a haven of peace, with a unique atmosphere close to the Spui literary square. A place not to be missed.
