The Luther Museum is located in the Wintterberg, a building erected in 1772 to care for the elderly. It is so named because it was on this square that Maarten Luther presented his 95 theses, the foundation of the Reformed Church. The tour introduces us to the Lutheran Church and its role through the ages, particularly its work with the needy, the poor and the elderly. Today, this commitment continues, particularly with the LGBTQIA+ community. This venue, with its impressive halls, can be rented out for conventions or weddings.

Zonder twijfel een van de leukste musea in Amsterdam. Dacht u dat het Rijksmuseum leuk was? Dan zult u na een rondleiding door het Luther museum zeker niet teleurgesteld zijn.

Gidsen vol kennis leiden u kunstig door de eerste kamers van dit historische pand.

Ik wist niet zo goed wat te verwachten van dit museum, maar aangenaam verrast. In een voormalig weeshuis/bejaardenhuis/kerk met de voormalige regenten kamers kom je veel te weten over de geschiedenis van dit huis en de lutherse kerk, dmv de audiotour en duidelijke info op de bordjes. Niet groot, maar absoluut de moeite waard.

Een museum in de oude Wittenberg: prachtige stukken uit de lutherse omgeving, rijk gedecoreerd tafelzilver en dergelijke. Nog niet besmet door de ".calvinistische eenvoud".
