MUSEUM HET SCHIP
Visit one of the finest examples of architectural achievement of the Amsterdam school, organizing guided tours
Het Schip is one of the finest examples of the Amsterdam school of architecture. Designed by Michel de Klerk, these dwellings are veritable palaces for workers. A visit to this museum will take you to a former post office and a renovated workers' dwelling. It's these shapes that give it its name (Schip = ship). The museum also organizes guided tours in English of the Scheepvaarthuis, today the setting for the Grand Hotel Amrâth, another illustrious example of this architectural style.
