This place, the true heart of the historic centre, is a compulsory passage during a stay in the city. Its strategic location between several neighbourhoods, between the city's most shopping pedestrian street and its many monuments, makes Dam a rallying point for generations of people and tourists. On the one hand, there is the royal Palace alongside the beautiful Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) on the other side of the monument (phallic form) in memory of the soldiers died during the Second World War.

grand
très grande place au cœur de la ville, c'est aussi un RDV des artistes, des pigeons (faire des photos avec eux) ou associations en tout genre, c'est le centre des rues commerçantes

La place est rempli de monde en journée surtout autour de la statue. On peut aussi y voir le palais royal, le musée Tussaud mais aussi la nouvelle église. On y trouve aussi des boutiques souvenirs.

La place du Dam est un incontournable d'Amsterdam! Point de rencontre, souvent. Le "palais royal" et le monuments relatant les souffrances de la 2° guerre mondiale.
