MOKUM GALLERY
A beautiful gallery that presents the young figurative painting in Amsterdam
Mokum (the Yiddish word for city) is a beautiful gallery that has been set up for over 60 years on a magnificent canal, in a typical, photogenic building just a stone's throw from the university. The aim? To exhibit and promote figurative painting. In its early days, the gallery represented some thirty Dutch artists. It is now open to artists from the four corners of the globe, enriching its catalog, which nevertheless remains fairly classic in style. The gallery now collaborates with The Grand Hotel, where it exhibits in the lobby.
