SINT LAURENSKERK - SAINT LAURENT'S CHURCH
Church in the Brabant gothic style, built in 1646, with large windows and elegant wooden vaults
Built in 1646 in the Brabant Gothic style, this church was restored after the war. The large windows and elegant wooden vaults give the overall structure, in the shape of a vessel, a striking volume. The transept houses a superb 16th-century organ case, as well as three tombs of great admirals. On the forecourt in front of the church, a statue of Erasmus by Hendrick de Keyser (1621) pays tribute to the famous Rotterdam-born humanist.
