VAN NELLE FABRIEK
Symbolic place of Rotterdam which was used to pack tea, coffee and tobacco and then to manufacture cigarettes and chewing gum
The Van Nelle factory, built in 1930, is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Designed by architects Van der Vlugt and Brinkman, it was first used to package tea, coffee and tobacco, then to manufacture cigarettes and chewing gum. Now converted into a workspace and events complex, it is a magnificent landmark in Rotterdam. The building is incredibly modern, with hot-water showers, central heating and airy workspaces. The highlight of the building is daylight everywhere!
