The previous central station was demolished in 2008 to make way for a huge construction site. The station, in its current magnificent form, revealed its innovative and striking face on 13 March 2014. The futuristic station is the result of a collaboration between Benthem Crouwel, Meyer en Van Schooten and West 8. Its shiny futuristic roof is a major attraction in the city. International (Belgium) and national trains to and from Amsterdam.
