Central station with a shiny roof, the result of a cooperation between Benthem Crouwel, Meyer en Van Schooten and West 8

The previous central station was demolished in 2008 to make way for a huge construction site. The station, in its current magnificent form, revealed its innovative and striking face on 13 March 2014. The futuristic station is the result of a collaboration between Benthem Crouwel, Meyer en Van Schooten and West 8. Its shiny futuristic roof is a major attraction in the city. International (Belgium) and national trains to and from Amsterdam.

Extraordinaire entrée en ville !
Quelle fabuleuse façon d'entrer dans cette ville moderne que de franchir la sortie de la gare centrale ... d'avancer sur le parvis ... et surtout, de se retourner pour contempler cette merveille architecturale contemporaine !!! Un bâtiment qui symbolise cette ville et qui donne envie de découvrir d'autres exemples d'édifices incroyables qui s'y trouvent.
Combien de gares peuvent prétendre assurer cette double fonction ? Cette gare donne une image hautement dynamique de la ville, et superbement fonctionnelle également !
