NEDERLANDS FOTOMUSEUM - MUSEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Museum with a very flexible and modern space, allowing easy adaptation to the subject of the exhibition
The Museum of Photography Rotterdam is divided into two distinct sections. The first deals with the history of photography, while the second is devoted to temporary exhibitions presented in an innovative setting. The space is highly flexible and modern, adapting easily to the subject matter of the exhibitions. The media covered are not limited to photography, but also include film, video and design. The museum, in collaboration with many other Dutch and international museums and institutions, aims to be a modern, interactive space, open to the history of photography and the photography of history.
A very interesting interactive discovery area has been put into operation: it allows users to search the museum's database using a sophisticated yet easy-to-use machine. With a few flicks of the joystick, the results appear on a giant screen. This innovation, developed by Geert Mul, is truly groundbreaking!
The museum also includes a library, store and cafeteria. The main gallery presents the history of Dutch photography from 1842 to the present day in 99 photos. It's a journey through time, sometimes very moving, with photos of Anne Frank, the country's colonial past and happier moments. The application dedicated to this gallery offers a complete panorama and allows you to choose the hundredth photo to be added to the wall. A must-see in the city!
