The recently renovated Museum of Ethnology confirms the interest, not only commercial, that the Netherlands has in the peoples of Asia and elsewhere. It offers rich ethnological collections relating to Southeast Asia, China, Tibet, Indonesia and New Guinea, but also to some African countries. The importance of the collection built up over the years obliges the museum to hold temporary exhibitions (lasting from six months to two years), each one dealing with a specific theme (clothing, housing, popular theater, etc.).
