NIEUWE KERK
Church-museum, dominated by a high tower of brick and white stone topped by a spire in Delft
This church-museum, built in Gothic style and dedicated to the Protestant cult from 1572, is in a way the pantheon of the princes of the House of Orange. The building is dominated by a high tower of brick and white stone topped by a spire. William I of Nassau, known as the Taciturn, was buried there in 1584, in a superb mausoleum created by Hendrik de Keyser, between 1614 and 1620, in the choir of the church... The interior, of austere appearance, also presents three naves and an apse housing the tomb of William I (1815-1840).
