Open since 1949, Garuda is one of the city's historic landmarks. The restaurant has been taken over by the king of stoves, Ron Blaauw, who has transformed this slightly outdated classic into a warm, designer spot that's a must-see. On the first floor, an open kitchen allows you to observe what's going on behind the stove, while on the fourth floor, a superb cocktail bar offers wild evenings. The menu is inventive and modern, while still taking up the classics of Indonesian cuisine (including the famous rice tables).
