GRAND HOTEL AMRÂTH KURHAUS
Hotel designed by Johann Friedrich Henkenhaf and Friedrich Ebert, with roots in 1818 in The Hague
The history of the Kurhaus dates back to 1818, with the construction of the first sea pavilion. After a fire, the present building was rebuilt between 1886 and 1887 by architects Johann Friedrich Henkenhaf and Friedrich Ebert. In its early days, it was a huge success as a seaside resort, but its appeal declined in the 1960s and it was listed as a national monument in 1975. Its great hall, with its majestic staircase and sublime glass roof, is a true masterpiece.
